N-I/A “S” Series Pressure Transmitters for Safety Applications

The N-I/A has been qualified as a direct replacement for the Foxboro N-820 Series Transmitters. A qualified mounting kit adaptor is available for existing Model 820 transmitters which allow the use of existing mounting and process connections. Ultra Energy is the exclusive distributor for the Foxboro I/A Series Pressure transmitters to the nuclear power industry in the U.S. The qualified N-I/A Series Pressure transmitters are only available from Ultra Energy worldwide. The standard 4-20mA output transmitter has a display with on-board pushbuttons for set up and configuration. If one of the optional digital outputs are used, communication and set up can be performed via a remote hand-held device or computer. Other features include linear or square root output, (DP only) adjustable damping, reverse output and re-ranging without applying pressure. Accidental reversal of field-wiring will not damage the transmitter.

-Ambient Temperature Effect (per 55ºC, 100ºF change) For biplanar AP/GP transmitters with Span Codes B, C, and D, the total effect for a 28°C (50°F) change within normal operating conditions is ±(0.04% URL + 0.050% Span); For biplanar AP/GP transmitters with Span Codes E and F, the total effect for a 28°C (50°F) change within normal operating conditions is ±(0.08% URL + 0.025% Span); For DP transmitters (all Span Codes), the total effect for a 28°C
-Static Pressure Zero Effect (DP only) (per 7Mpa, 1000 psi) The zero and span shift for a 1,000 psi (7 MPa) change in static pressure is described below.
-RFI Effect For AP and GP transmitters, the output error is less than 0.1% of calibrated span for radio frequencies in the range of 30 to 1000 MHz and field intensity of 30 V/m when the transmitter is properly installed with shielded conduit and grounding, and housing covers are in place (per IEC Std. 61000-4-3). For DP transmitters, the output error is less than 0.1% of span within standard accuracy turndown limits, for radio frequencies from 27 to 1000 MHz and field intensity of 30 V/m when the transmitter is properly installed with shielded conduit and grounding, and housing covers are in place (per IEC Std. 61000-4-3)
-Turndown Ratio 400:1
-Operating Temperature -29ºC to +82ºC (-20ºF to +185ºF)
-Storage Temperature -54ºC and +82ºC (-65ºF and +185ºF)
-Environmental Protection The transmitter’s enclosure has the weatherproof, dust-tight, and water-tight rating of IP66/67 as defined by IEC 60529, and provides the environmental and corrosion resistant protection rating of NEMA Type 4X.
-Output Signal For HART transmitters, 4 to 20 mA dc square root (for DP only) or 4 to 20 mA dc linear with digital HART communication. The output is software-selectable and remotely configurable from the HART Communicator, and locally configurable with the pushbuttons on the optional display. For FOUNDATION Fieldbus transmitters, square root (for DP only) or linear. The digital output is software-selectable and remotely configurable from a FOUNDATION Fieldbus host computer or a console equipped with a FOUNDATION Fieldbus Interface Module. It is also locally configurable with the pushbuttons on the optional display.
-Response time AP/GP transmitters: 100 ms; DP Transmitters: 125 ms
-Adjustable Damping Hart (-T) Transmitters: Damping is user-selectable to values of 0, 0.25, 0.5, 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, or 32 seconds. FOUNDATION Fieldbus (-F) Transmitters: Damping is user-selectable to values of 0.25, 0.5, 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, or 32 seconds.
-Span and Range Limits For Specific Models see "Span and Range Limits" in Documents Section below.
-Supply Voltage for Hart Transmitters See Documents Section for 4 to 20 mA Ouptput Supply Voltage vs. Output Load
-FOUNDATION Fieldbus Transmitters The power supply (a FOUNDATION Fieldbus Power Supply Module) must be capable of providing at least 17 mA for each transmitter connected. Minimum Supply Voltage 9 Vdc, Recommended Supply Voltage: 24 Vdc; Maximum Supply Voltage32 Vdc.
